Favourite Verve Album

ok, it seems to be poll day anyway, so we can have that one as well

ANS for me, still.
Ramon

ASIH for me, still.
Lucky Woman

ASIH for me too. That album just can't be beat.
ANorthernHistory99

A Northern Soul - my all-time favorite album.  I doubt it will ever be dethroned.
viva la verve

I can't say unitl I listen to FORTH. As for the first three, I don't even have a favorite there. All of them are good in their own way.

But I most say that I enjoy the no come down EP more than any of the albums (well, actually is quite the same).
Back Door Man

ASIH - not just my fav Verve album, but my favorite album period.  I must have listened to it every day for 6 or 7 years.  Wish I had the time to now.

I like the way it was...well, you know.

ASIH....ANS.....Son....Daughter....How do you choose? UH is the step child you love, but will never be your own and I haven't known her long enough to know how she'll fit in the family.
hindleyite

A Northern Soul, from the explosive opening 'A New Decade' and 'This is Music' to the majestic 'History', 'Life's an Ocean' and frankly brilliant 'Stormy Clouds'.

Not saying I don't like the other albums, which I do of course, but NS was the album that really got me interested in the Verve.

I stand accused, just like you, for being born without a silver spoon!

Urban Hymns!

Same here, followed very closely by ANS and after that jointly UH and Richard's solo albums.

Just like you Mover!

Edit: Just realised I missed out Forth - I would slot that one in alongside ANS.
sinc

My favourite is the one they never play live!
Dago

Urban Hymns
Was my first "Verve's star",what I followed and find out more great stuff. It doesn't matter, that I play some other album more, now.
UH was first and will stay,it just deserves it.
viva la verve

So I have only listened the first three FORTH tracks and I'm already starting to feel like it could be my favorite verve album ever (in other words, my favorite album ever).

So, I want to vote for FORTH in this poll, but I can't do it until I listen to the whole thing in a week (I won't be listening the rest this week because some terrible things have happen to me this last two days and I don't want to asociate the album with those memories each time I listen to it).
Lucky Woman

Hope you're ok viva la verve.
You're reasoning is very sound.

Oh, don't worry, I'm ok....for now.

But I'm starting to feel like I need to listen the album, but I just don't want it to remind me to this damn week. Lets see how much more can I resist
sonne

Urban Hymns for me still.

but i just usually build a playlist of my favourite Verve tracks taken from all albums and a selection of b-sides. about 90% of the songs on my MP3 player are Verve.
Love_And_Unrest

Im not saying The Verves future albums wont be good (cos they will be), but nothing will beat the first three albums.

I know what you mean, but sometimes great music can help you through difficult times, and I'm sure you'll be having loads of good times soon while you listen to Forth to erase the bad memories.

UH and Forth.

That's actually true, music does help a lot in this kind of matters (and it has already done it for me in the past). Thanks for the advice LW, I will know re-consider once again if I should or shouldn't listen to this album during the next days.
