Favourite Songs on Forth

Which ones are your favourite three, and why?

ONLY THREE!
This is Music

Erm, and Appalachian Springs, please!
windinthewillows

jajaja, TIM, alte frau ist kein d-zug!

hard choice, eh?

for me it's:
sit and wonder (that one was love at first listen)
noise epic (rock'n'roll! - imagine that one live)
appalachian springs (most beautiful end of an album ever, sooooo beautiful *sob*)

today. may change tomorrow.
fellgoodinc

Valium Skies
Rather be
I see Houses
Ramon

Sit and Wonder
- Amazing song, just way more than amazingly enough to belong to my 'amazing three'
Noise Epic
- First time I heard I was like 'what the fuck, this is great', still got same thoughts 'bout it, just love the way the song changes
Valium Skies
- Jesus Christ Bananas, possibly one of the nicest ones ever, I fell in love with this
Appalachian Springs

its difficult, i REALLY like all 10 of them. Sit and Wonder is my least favorite though.

My Top 3 is: Appalachian Springs, Valium Skies and Columbo. Those are the last 3 tracks, so i believe the end of the album is the best off course.

But c'mon! Noise Epic, Love Is Noise, Judas, Rather Be, I See Houses and Numbness are all epic-tunes (Sit and Wonder is as well).

maybe our next question should be: Best Verve album ever, Forth?..........i can't really say right now (ANS has always been my favorite)

but when i hear the last 2 minutes of Columbo i can say this is a fuckin' good LP!!
alanism

well now I've heard it (no illegal downloads for me!) I'd have to say these so far:

Rather Be
Judas
Numbness

Numbness really recalls A Northern Soul - in fact most of the second part of the album does. Great lazy, long summer nights music.

Just curious if Richard wrote Columbo whilst watching afternoon TV...if so then we should be thankful it wasn't called "Quincy"...

Or "deal or no deal"
Lucky Woman

It's impossible to choose three, but if I have to:

Valium Skies
Appalachian Springs
Noise Epic

but it's madness to leave off Sit And Wonder, Judas, Rather Be, Columbo, Numbness....  and the others.
ANorthernHistory99

Oops, I voted without reading the original post first, so the poll is a bit skewed.

My favorite three tracks are:

Appalachian Springs
Numbness
Noise Epic
Cam

Just now my top 3 songs are:
I See Houses
Appalachian Springs
Rather Be
checkthemeaning

Sit And Wonder -  this is an automatic
Valium Skies
Columbo
Ramon

Judas seems to be more popular here than in the Bible
sinc

I cant understand the love for Judas. Sit and wonder, noise epic and columbo and maybe Rather Be are the only ones they should play live. The rest reeks of Ashcoft solo
MadSoul

After the first listens Valium Skies, Appalachian Springs, Judas. But need far more listens
Dago

Rather Be,Judas,Appalachian Springs for me

A lot of us like Ashcroft solo as well as The Verve, so songs that "reek" of Ashcroft solo with the benefit of The Verve behind him is quite agreeable to us.  Not that we don't love the real "Verve" sound as well, but we can like the best of both worlds.

Obviously if you're not into Richard solo then you won't like the more solo sounding songs. We all have our own taste.
This is Music

Well said, Lucky Woman - plus, I personally think "Rather be" "reeks of Richard solo" too - so here, all a matter of opinion (as usual)
windinthewillows

nobody going for "love is noise" then?

such a surprise!

Dont get me wrong Ashcroft solo has its great moments  but I think we all know its not a patch on The Verve

Nothing/nobody is a patch on The Verve. The point is, the "solo" sounding songs on Forth DO have the benefit of the other Verve members.

It's not getting the top vote on the worst song thread though is it?
