My Forth box set just arrived through the post! I thought it'd taken a beating at first but then realised thats the design    I'm lovin it!!!   On the vinyl tracklisting Mama Soul and Muhammad Ali are slotted in between Columbo and Appalachian Springs. The CD and DVD have a little place each to slot in and the back inner sleeve is a beautiful green and yellow. I'm pretty chuffed i have to say!   Anyone else got theirs yet?

Yes, mine arrived a short while ago.
It's a really beautiful boxset.

Absolutely perfect .....

.... apart from the fact there were no lyrics in that booklet, and we were definately promised lyrics! (What we gonna do now TIM?   )

And sort of makes the promise of a complete download a week prior to it's release, which they then changed to one day before, sorta superflous!

I can't feel too grumpy about it though, cos it's such a beautiful set.
Haven't listened to the extra songs or watched the dvd yet, I'll be doing that soon when I sit down for lunch.

Yeah just came home to my package    - and  I'm so upset that there's no lyrics, just like Lucky Woman.... HOURS of listening ahead trying to figure out what the lyrics are... torture!

First impressions - Ma Ma Soul's a funky bassline, incredible washes of Nick's guitar shining through and Richard's voice all echoes, underlined by Pete's thunderous beats. Muhammad Ali sounds like it should join on from Columbo, much heavier funk though, bass-driven... off to enjoy the rest of the vinyl properly now!

does anyone have a link to download  the 2 bonus songs (Mama Soul and Muhammed Ali) found on the vinyl?

there's also another extra song found on the Japanese edition: Mona Lisa. But in Japan the album is released on September 3.

thanks!

The vinyl experience just blew me away! Lay down in my front room, closed my eyes, and soaked it up. Appalachian springs - OMG! Numbness as well. Ma Ma Soul and Muhammed Ali song like they belong on there. There's only one word to describe Forth - Genius

Oh yeah and it is a kind of lyric book - its just that its richards handwritten lyrics of previous songs. They never said it was gonna be Forth lyrics, that was our assumption, so we can't really complain. Its very similar to the Winter 07 tour programme.

somehow i thought the box set would just be a box with a "normal" vinyl copy and the "nornal" cd/dvd set in it (and the booklet thingy of course)

so is the booklet from the box set the same thing as the "book" that's supposed to come with the cd/dvd set?
anyone got the cd/dvd set yet?

do the LPs of the box set come with a decent (gatefold) cover, or just in paper sleeves?

The vinyl is in a gatefold cover with the LP's in seperate inner sleeves with artwork on. When you open the cover there are two slots with a CD in a paper case, like the Love is Noise single was, and a DVD in a paper case. Its pretty nice. I hope yours comes soon willows!! I bet the wait is killing you!    I'd post you some pics of it if you want but dunno what the best way is of uploading photos onto here. If you can tell me then i'll do it
