Change Your Setlist Verve! |
|
|
| No matter how well their recent performances are, im still annoyed that they're playing the same old setlist songs. I've got quite a few 2008 bootlegs now, and all of them are basically the same. i really hope they mix it up a bit and come up with some original setlists. |

Probably because they've been mainly festival performances. Now the albums out (practically) they'll be bound to shake the setlist up!
Assuming all is well and they do another tour... |

it would be a a bit (VERY!) unfair to put songs like noise epic and columbo and appalachian springs on a CD and then never play them live!
that would piss me off. considerably. |

| Even though i love these songs, i would love The Verve to do some gigs without lucky man, BSS, DDW and others i missed out that have been played to death. |

Definately (apart from BSS). |

| I strongly support this post. It makes the shows more unpredictable to change up the set every night. This is why I'm a big fan of Dave Matthews Band, and why they still remain as my favorite live band as opposed to The Verve (my favorite studio band). Go to a two night stand at the same venue, and you're guaranteed to get a completely different show from the previous night at a Dave Matthews concert. Just saw them recently two nights in a row when they came in town. On the second night, they repeated one song that was played the night before. And both shows were fantastic. The Verve also has more than enough material to deliver two completely different shows, and still remain equally fantastic to one another. [/b] |

setlist |

|
| if the band plays new gigs. then all 10 songs should be included. 'cause all those you said are concert-songs, but what about singing along with I See Houses or Numbness! Columbo and Appalachian also are gonna be great live i guess. |

i totally agree Love and Unrest. I wish they'd drop all the singles from Urban Hymns from the playlist inc BSS, but they do it for the "Urban Hymns only - "do they have another album?" fans". I'd heard Nick say they think they have to cater for these fans or they'd get boo'ed off - not likely! If you've gotta play UH tunes why not - Catching the Butterfly, This Time, Neon Wilderness, One Day - surely these fans have heard these as well. I wouldn't mind if I never heard TDDW, LM or Sonnet ever again |

mixing up the set |
|
|
| I am glad I got to go to the Blackpool concert for a wide varied set including LTDB , GG , AT and AMCS and the northern soul / urban hymns greatest hits. I would like to hear the new stuff aswell as a couple of singles off of ASIH but they don't seem to want to consider playing this stuff. I mean there was a ten year gap so in a way anything played off the first three albums is a trip down memory lane so why so little storm in heaven. Hopefully they will tour four and with it sounding a bit like a ASIH they will play a few more early tunes. Long live the verve! |

Glad you didn't add BSS.
Yeah, I've had enough of the others live.
Wouldn't mind hearing Catching The Buttlerfly, never heard that one live. |

I don't have to sing along with EVERY song
| Quote: | | Columbo and Appalachian also are gonna be great live i guess. |
would be a deadly sin if those two never get played live.
